Statement from Ms. Linda Hembadoon Iniembe, President of Rethink Women and Children Initiative
As the President of Rethink Women and Children Initiative, I am honored to share our ongoing commitment to fostering a brighter future for women and children in our communities. Our organization is built on the pillars of promoting child nutrition, advancing gender equality, supporting women’s entrepreneurship, ensuring girl-child education, and combating gender-based violence (GBV).
At Rethink Women and Children Initiative, we understand that true progress requires a multifaceted approach. Our programs are designed to address the complex and interrelated challenges faced by women and children. Here’s how we are making a difference:

- Child Nutrition: Proper nutrition is the cornerstone of a healthy and productive life. We provide nutritional support to children through school feeding programs, community health initiatives, and partnerships with local farmers. By ensuring children receive the essential nutrients they need, we are laying the foundation for their physical and cognitive development.
- Gender Equality: Gender equality is not just a goal; it is a fundamental human right. We advocate for equal opportunities and work to eliminate discriminatory practices that hinder women and girls. Our awareness campaigns, workshops, and policy advocacy efforts aim to create a society where everyone, regardless of gender, can thrive.
- Women’s Entrepreneurship: Economic empowerment is crucial for women’s independence and well-being. We provide training, resources, and mentorship to women entrepreneurs, helping them start and grow their businesses. By supporting women in building sustainable livelihoods, we contribute to the economic stability of entire communities.
- Girl-Child Education: Education is the key to unlocking a brighter future. We strive to ensure that every girl has access to quality education. Our scholarship programs, school supplies drives, and advocacy for girls’ education work to break down the barriers that prevent girls from attending and completing school.
- Combating Gender-Based Violence (GBV): GBV is a pervasive issue that affects the safety and dignity of women and girls. We provide support services for survivors, including counseling, legal aid, and safe shelters. Additionally, our educational programs and community dialogues aim to change attitudes and behaviors that perpetuate violence.

Hoodes Nutri Blend: A nutrion booster for malnurished children (Formulated and produced by Hoodes with support from Rethink Women and Children Initiative) . This product has been distributed numerous communities for use by malnurished children through a Partnership and support from The Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints.
Beyond these core areas, we are constantly exploring new avenues to support women and children. Here are some additional areas we are focusing on:
- Mental Health Support: Recognizing the importance of mental health, we are initiating programs to provide psychological support and counseling services for women and children. Mental well-being is essential for personal development and resilience.
- Environmental Sustainability: We are integrating environmental education into our programs to promote sustainable practices. Women and children play a crucial role in environmental stewardship, and we empower them to be agents of change in their communities.
- Digital Literacy and Technology Access: In the digital age, access to technology and digital literacy are vital. We offer training programs to enhance digital skills, ensuring that women and girls can participate fully in the digital economy.
- Advocacy for Policy Change: We engage in policy advocacy to influence legislation that affects women and children. By working with government bodies and other stakeholders, we aim to create an enabling environment for gender equality and child rights.

Together, we can rethink and reshape the future for women and children, making it more equitable, just, and prosperous.
